Dissolved Air Flotation

Clarification process equipment for processing water & wastewater.

Dissolved Air Flotation

Dissolved Air Flotation systems are designed to effectively remove suspended solids (TSS), FOG, and other pollutants from a wastewater stream. Wastewater is fed into the DAF system and hit with a stream of recirculated clarified water from the DAF that has been super saturated with dissolved air. As the recycle stream is mixed with the incoming wastewater, micron-sized bubbles attach to the contaminants. Together they rise to the surface and are removed by a skimmer that gently pushes them towards a discharge hopper for further handling. The ā€œVā€ bottom of the DAF tank will collect any remaining solids that do not float to the surface where they will be eventually be discharged after a certain amount of accumulation.
